Does anyone know the difference in a 5.4L in a F-150 and a Navigator? Also does anyone know any place that has 5.4L performace aftermarket parts? Thanks
milkmanoo; you can find just about anything you want for your truck,at summit racing.com or just go to the online store here. hope this helps you out. redeye
The dual overhead cam engine in the Navigator has 4 valves per cylinder, thus more power than the single overhead cam 2 valves per cylinder in the pickups.
As for aftermarket performance parts for thr 5.4, have you checked Sean Hyland Motorsports? They have a ton of stuff. Some of it kinda pricey, but you can definitely make your mod motor scream if you want to.
just for a personal opinion, sean hyland is
too much $$ and i have not seen many great products from him.
the 5.4 is a very potential motor, and i am building one myself
right now. i am shooting to hit 550+hp out of it, that is also naturally aspirated! i have been around a 4.6 dohc that was 474 hp and naturally aspirated with no porting or after-market pistons or rods, and i am going the whole nine with the 5.4 from billet rods to raised custom forged pistons, and wild cams. mind you that the 5.4 is 330 ci. and the 4.6 is 281. there is so much potential in these engines, its incredible. just wanted to let people know that!
chrisscraf,
I read what you wrote and I agree with you on one thing these motor have good potential but I disagree with 474 hp from an engine with no port and polish work stock Rods and pistons where did the power come from a super charger may be I myself have built a5.4 ,with biilet rods ross pistons and wilder cams the engine only produced 450 hp but had 500ft lb of torque and cost big dollars I could of built a stroker motor that would eat the 5.4 lunch for half the money
