Any Good reason???

Okay, I got the 6.0 tranny cooler in today and was going to hook up my lines and I noticed that the lines dont even run through my radiator, in fact the radiator connections are capped. Is there any reason why a person would want to do this? Should I reroute them back through the radiator before running them to the cooler? I think I read somewhere that the line coming from the front of the tranny is the feed line and the one at the back of the tranny is the return line is this true? Thanks, Reek

I took the line out of the radiator because the trans was getting to hot for me when I was pulling my T.T. Now I have them with two coolers and it runs about 190deg pulling which is fine to me. But I live in south texas and are winter last about three weeks.

So you still still didnt rerun through the radiator. I nees to reconnect all my lines and am not sure if I should bypass the Radiator or not.

I just run two coolers and bypass radiator. I want my transmission fluid cooler than the radiator fluid which is 203 deg. I like the trans stay under 200 degs because heat kills e4od fast.

This is a common mis-conception. The radiator is not at 203*, that is the temp your thermostat (sp) is keeping the motor at that temp if it is working properly. If it is stuck open you run much cooler, stuck closed and you overheat. Old school street racers threw away the t-stat because we could not cool a motor enough in the 60's-70's. The computer controlled stuff changed all that.

My truck has the late model cooler BTS installed and it runs through the radiator.

Mine doesn't run through the radiator and I have never had a problem with heat. Infact I cant get the temperature to rise unless I really work the truck. Most of the time my temps stay around 150-160 degrees maybe 180 if I'm towing.

I got it all hooked up and bypased the radiator for now. We leave tomarrow for the Oregon coast but when I get back Im going to install gauges and try it both ways and see if it makes a difference. I have mixed feeling about bypassing the radiator, but oh well for now its done and the 6.0 cooler is a BEAST!
