tranny cooler

for some reason i find it odd that my tranny cooler lines dont go to the radiator they go to a cooler in front of the tranny. is this right? its a 1970 f250 camper special with a 390 and a c6 trans. any advice?

The Transmission cooler should be hooked up in series with the lower rad tank..... not be on its own.

Is it a cooler with heater hose connections?
