Jeep guys-help
(of course he has not see the picture of my jeep) but I feel spice would be too yellow and I seriously believe that the one I have on it now is not spice. Then, what color do I have on it now? Meaning in Jeep lingo terms( spice, grey?)…Here is pictue of a jeep that looks just like mine...

He would be 100% correct.

You are correct.
As far as I know, SAHARA only came in one color scheme for 1988/1989/when first released (I actually worked at a Jeep dealer around that time). The color on the inside was suppose to be sort of like a desert scheme tan and the paint on the outside was a subtle type of green. There were different interior details too.

Yours looks nothing like that. Your door panels look like a different color from the door tray, which does look like a Sahara color. Your dash and color look like two different colors. Look at your flat looking seats, then look at that beat Wrangler on E-Bay and notice how much nicer they look with the quilting, boulsters, separate cushions, and adjustable headrests.
In short, I would not be surprised if Sahara decals and a tire cover were added to your vehicle just like some people add a "XLT" to a "XT" model. Say, like a Bronco II. Then when you look in the interior you do not find small things such as bins and locking covers on the rear quarter panels. Just like the Sahara probably came with storage bins at the bottom of the door, offered only in one color, while the base model did not.
I would order a top to match your dark charcoal paint job. In 1988 and 1989 I think there was only one color offered in the Sahara and dark charcoal grey wasn't it.

I agree. Probably the best in terms of lasting and repairs is Best Top, fwiw.
If buying a complete soft top, try to buy one that includes a bikini top with it.
You can still buy aftermarket roll bar kits to add on to yours (they call them something else to limit liability). Just pick up a magazine or two and browse the back ads.

I forget who, but, someone makes a nice tool box for behind the rear seat which is practically thief proof and is all heavy gauge metal. Nice for storing your stuff including the face plate for a radio. You might want to look into that with a soft top.
