Does anybody have a picture of the OEM turbo wheel that comes on the early 99's? I'm wondering if mine was changed before I bought it.
in my sig below is a link named...exploded view of a 7.3..in that link there is a 99 to 99.5 turbo swap..you can see the early 99 turbo and wheel there..the bigger turbo sitting on the orange pedestal is the 99.5..that has the wicked wheel in it..
I want to take the early 99 wheel out and measure it..I do not believe they are inter changeable...I believe the early 99 wheel over all is smaller then a 99.5..

here is the stock early 99 wheel..other pictures in the link below..i dont believe you can get any other kind of wheel for the early 99...look close at the opening to the wheel..see it gets much smaller..i believe the wheel as a whole is smaller then a later 99..ill measure it later on and post it for you..

I got a picture of one but it is damaged, here the picture, it should look something like that in shape of the blade how there are many of them, but just not ground down on certain blades like mine lol. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...1&id=510268377
You're not experiencing surge if the gauge just vibrates 2psi. Mine does that, it's normal. The problem is that the boost line coming from the engine to the gauge is a little too short. A trick i learned was where you could find a space, make a large (6" or so) loop out of the boost line to add area and to make the air change direction, it should make the gauge steadier. When my gauge goes near 28-29psi, sometimes it will hover between 28-30 under constant load.
She runs real good! Maybe I'll look into finding another dyno in Salt Lake City. Is there a more accurate dyno than another I should be looking for?
My boost gauge also vibrates above 15 psi and at 25 psi it's real bad. The shop said all early 99's are that way. Is that true?
Try gillett diesel in Bluffdale just off of I-15. It is a high performance diesel shop and they have a dyno. They recently changed names phone #'s 800-638-4679. I have been there several times and they have done good work. Real easy to find just look for the parking lot full of Cummins.

totin, could you list me a couple in PA if ya have the magazine handy thanks....
Something dosent sound right! If I stomp it from a stop on 80 econ, I usually leave 15ft of rubber and another 5ft when it shifts into 2nd! On 140 settings, nothing but tire smoke, thats why I usually let her get rolling a little before I punch it!
What kind of gearing do you have?
Is your tranny slipping?
Do you have oversize tires!
Something doesent sound right!

I agree. With my mods I can get a healthy bark out of my 37's any time I want from a stop, That's with a Predator set on 60! I do think that you may have transmission issues.
I'm going to dyno mine soon, but first I have to get a scan tool and find out why my SES light came on today(I have a good idea why). Time for a laptop and AE I suppose.
