BIG Problem

I have a 1996 Ford Ranger 2.3L. When I start my car and start driving intially and I exceed 3000 rpms and then come to a complete stop, the car sounds like its going to die because the rpms goes to 500 rpms and starts to shake when it is suppose to be at 1000-1500 rpms when idling at a stop and then after a few seconds it starts iidling at 1000-1500 rpms again. The only check engine light to go on was "misfire" but I just changed my spark plugs and wires a few months ago and it did not have this problem before. I also replaced my whole block and pistons and everything, so I know it is not compression lost. When I have been driving after a while and the engine is warmed up it does not have this problem when I stop.

Whats the problem?

When did you get the misfire code? Before or after changing the plugs?

Assuming it's not an ignition issue, then I'd say you are looking at a bad IAC.

I received the misfire code after changing the plugs but not for a few months

may I should check the IAC valve, where is it located?

The IAC is mounted on the upper intake near the throttle body. Should look something like this:
