Tire clearance question

I have an 84 Ford F250 4x4. Currently it runs with 31x10.50 tires on it. Can 34.5x13.50 tires fit under it with a bit of rub? If not will a 3 in lift make them fit? thanks, Matt

Nice truck Matt! You should be able to fit 34s under your rig without lifting, you will have some rubbing... 33s are about the maximium for a stock 3/4 ton 4x4 Ford. I guy I was in the military with had a 95 F250 4x4 with a 3" suspension lift and 34x10.50 Interco Truxus Radials on 16x8" aluminum rims. You might concider going to a 4" suspension lift, 4" kits seem to be more plentiful. If you are thinking of going to a 3" body lift, that would probably work okay too... might be a bit tight with 13.50 wide tire, you may need to do some fender trimming.

Well how much you want to spend determines the quality of the lift kit. Rough Country builds a decent lift. But if you plan on wheeling your truck hard you would be better off spending a little more $ and going with Superlift or Skyjacker. rockymountainsusp.com would be a good place to start shopping. Also check out Bronco Graveyard.

The width of your wheels and the offset with play a major part in the amount of contact you get. Those tires on the stock wheels would produce the least amount of contact.
