5.4 ltr Turbo question
okay heres the thing, im planning on starting a custom turbo job for my truck, my plan was to go with 2 small turbos and use my headers to do a custom drop from there an run it up somehat profesionaly to the intake. My question is what size would work? i mean when im through i coudl have charged it but i want to play around too. Other than the custom burne chip what else would i be looking at to get the truck and te computer working fine?

I guess I don't understand why you would want to go with a turbo, is it the mountain thing (because it's there)?
There are many proven reliable, warrantied and powerful supercharger systems for the 5.4L on the market. Just a few more advantages would be much easier installation and the ablility to leave your current headers in place. Also you would save a ton of work, not to mention R&D cost as these proven designs are already done. In fact Ford uses Eaton supercharger systems on the Lightining and Harley 5.4L motors.
There are two main catagories of superchargers, (eh, other then the exhaust driven turbo that is) Postive displacement type compressor (Roots, Lyscolm) as sold by Magnacharger, Kenne Bell, Etc. and centrifical type compressor (just like the compressor in a turbo system but with a belt drive system instead of being exhaust driven) again several manufactures make these such as Vortec, API, Powerdyne, etc.
It is said that an average shade tree mechanic can install one of these 'kits' in a weekend, a pro in 4-6 hrs.

5.4 ltr Turbo question
The eaton would obviously be easier.. but the TT can be done....
Many people have done it on 5.0 mustangs. Im going to be doing in the spring on mine..
the turbo of choice is two Garret T-3's off a thunderbird turbo coupe.. they go for about $75 on ebay.. the whole JYTT setup can be done to a stang for under $1000.. many people are running in the 10's with this setup, adn putting down over 400rwhp..

5.4 ltr Turbo question
One would assume with as much desire there is for more power with our 5.4s somebody woudl actually come up with a line of parts or aftermarket items that would aid us in this battle for more.
Ive come up with a lay out for a dual turbo setup, im going to gie it to a couple turbo shops to see what they can do. Who knows right?
Thanks

Call these guys and see what they have to say. Contact info is on their site.

They have done some killer 4.6 turbo systems. I don't see why a 5.4 would be any different. A friend of my brothers has a Buick Grand National with a PTE built twin turbo Buick V-6. It puts down over 1200 RWHP and almost 1000 RWTQ. The car is full weight with all the interior and all power accesories and I have seen it run 9.0 @ 154mph with my own eyes. I've heard it's now in the 8's. They can build you just about anything you want, but it will cost you.
