Correct, a 57-72 F100 rear axle is a dirrect bolt in.

1957/72 9 inch...the only way to go. Strength, easy to work on, parts availability. Why go with anything else?

The cars used 9's, too, from 1957 thru 1979.

How exactly can a guy tell if it is a 9 inch rear end? I have no clue what kind of rear end is in my 77.
