Question about 9" rear

I have a 1977 F-150 and was wondering what the difference is between a 77' 9" rear end and a 78' and up. My rear end is going out so I figure I my as well beef it up with a detriot locker and 35 spline axles. The 35 spline axles say they will fit a 78 and up 9" rear end, would I have any problems fitting them to my truck after I put in the 35 spline detroit locker?

I have never heard of a 9" rear end that had anything other than 28 or 31 spline axles.

Whoever you are buying the 35s from should be able to tell you.

Find someone to talk to and confirm the set up you buy will fit your housing...
