I open the drain there was a stream coming out but not a lot of pressure. I could here the pump change tone. I was thinging it should had blown fuel everwhere. Like high pressure hose.
went ahead and put a cps on. no change. I told a lie, the fuel pump does shut off after about 20 sec or so. I hate to say this, but i had to take the old chevy truck and pull the f250 to the house.
guy come by and pull the codes. po122,po562,p1280,p1393,p1744,p1780.He cleared the other code out before he pulled these. It had a cps code before, but I told him I just put one in. the batterys was about half charged up, when he pulled these codes. any ideals?
I run the batteries down the day before. I had no Ideal he was going to show up before, I had a chance to charge them back up. Check the fuel pressure today I have 55 psi. tomorrow I'm going to pull the valve cover to check the injectors for oil blowing by the orings. thanks again for all the help. Randy
Do you think the IDM bad? I have access to a 01, but it has a standard trans I was told it would start, but my trans would not work. is there anyway to test the IDM?
When my GPR failed it still made the clicking noise when powered. You need a volt meter to see if it is passing power to the glow plugs when energized. There should be very little voltage drop across the relay contacts. Ford had problems with these failing and claims the latest design solves the problem.
Stormrider, when I first posted I thought It was the GPR. I did replace it, but I was having other problem. I found water in my IDM. hope this will be the end to my problems. Man do I miss my truck.
