I have a 2000 f250 4x4, out of the blue they stopped working. What do I have to do to find the problem? Is it common for them to quit all at once or could it be something else? I'm new to the diesel world, so I need all the help I can get. I'm new here also and F T E rocks. Thanks, Randy
when its cold its hard to start, cranks fine when hot. the wait to start light is working, but the relay not clicking. I used a test light on the relay and all but the big wires lights up. hope this helps. Thanks, Randy
do you have your owners manual? I dont have a service book in front of me, but I would start with Fuses, you say neither wire is lit? Are you under the hood during the wait to start period? Not to be a A$$, but are you on the right relay?
Replace the GPR. Make sure you are testing the right one as there are two that like alike. The GPR is the one further back. How are the battery cables?
take a dmm and ohm out your glow plugs. Then you will know for sure if they are working or not.
Just got off work haven't had a chance to look at it. Like to have never got it to start this morning, If it set for a few hours it acts same. The cables look fine, no problem with it turning over. the haynes book don't explain alot. when you look down at the gpr the bottom wire a small red wire, to the right it has yellow, purple, small blue wire, the top wire is pink, to the left it look to be a orange/ black wire. what do I need to do to ohm the glow plug. sorry for my ignorance. Thanks, Randy
Louisiana,it's A Cold 95 Degrees Here Let Me Start At The Beginning On This Truck I Bought It Two Months Ago And My First Problem Was I Found A Hole In The Pick Up Tube So I Have To Keep It At Atleast Half A Tank And I Changed The Filter. The Drain On The Filter Housing Was Dripping Fuel So I Took The Housing Apart And I Cleaned The Drain And Put It Back Together And It Worked Great For About A Week Or So And Now All Of A Sudden It Won't Start I Can Drive It And Kill It And Let It Sit For About An Hour Or Two And It Just Don't Want To Start And When It Tries To Start It Acts Like It's Only Hittin On One Or Two Cylinders Then All Of A Sudden It'll Straighten Out And Hit On All Of Them. Thanks Randy
change the gpr, no change. decided to check the filter gaskets when I started unscrewing the top I could hear air coming out, the gaskets were fine. still the same old sh$t. any ideals?
I don't think there should have been any air coming out of the housing. How much fuel was in the bowl? Seems that you have air coming into the system from somewhere. Where in La are you. I am in the New Orleans area.
are you sure the old o rings came out with the old filter sometimes they stick in the housing. also a very common problem that has your symtoms is a bad cps, most of us carry a spare and the 13mm socket to change it. as to temperature if it over 60 F I just jump in and start it up and mine fires right up

cps, when its running it doesn"t mess a beat.Talk to a guy that works at a ford dealership, he seem to think it has something to do with oil pressure. What ya'll think about that? When I took off the fuel filter housing, I used the old orings on the lines. could that cause the problem? Is there a special oring you use or can you buy it at auto zone? Thanks
