Priming a flathead

Priming a flathead is not as easy as a small block chevy, you need a few pieces of duffle to make it work. You have to connect into to the oil circuit at the back of the block, where the oild pressure sensor is connected, and you have to force oil through the system with either a pump or pressurized tank. I made a rig out of an old oil furnace burner pump and motor and it works good, I put a plastic pail resorvoir on top and the gear pump injects the oil into the block at 70-80 psi on my engine. I will post some pictures of it today in my gallery if you are interested. There are other methods that guys use and I am sure there will be lots of ideas. I certainly is a good idea to do this after your engine has been sitting for a while as by experience these flatheads are expensive to rebuild.
