Could be. Is there an upgraded line, or is just a stock replacement?
In theory, it shouldnt be too hard to take those off and clean them out with pressure and brake cleaner. But if you were going to do all that, it might make more sense to just replace them.
No not stock I bought mine off the internet. Can't remember the site but it is a steel prebent line. Check out my pics in my sig. I would google High pressure crossover line powerstroke. or something like that. If you don't have any luck let me know and I will dig to see where mine came from. i have also heard of people making a homemade one out of HP braided lines.
You guys may think I am smoking crack but I solved that same issue by putting 2 stroke oil into my tanks when I fill them up, I do one quart per tank. I was made a complete believer when about a month ago I went home to Idaho, my cousin had a 92 250 7.3 that he was told by the shop had a bad piston. We dumped 3 quarts into 8 gallons of diesel that had been sitting in the truck for 8 months (that was when it broke down) and we drove it 3 miles on 7 cylinders, thinking that the rod was gonna come out of the side of the engine, and then within 30 seconds the clatter cleared up she started running good and he has been using it as a daily driver ever since (with 2 stroke oil added to the diesel all of the time.) I have put 10000 miles on my truck running the oil, I had an emerging injector problem, that was what led me to look for a solution, put the oil in, 8 mile down the road injector cleaned up, and the stumbling idle cleaned up too. There is a site, (cant find it now but will keep looking) that basicly says our trucks were not designed for ULSD it has half of the lubricating proberties of LSD one OZ 2 stroke oil per gallon brings the ULSD to the same lubricating properties as the LSD. Sounds good to me I have not verified the equations, but my trucks runs better than it has in years, fuel mileage increased about .5 mpg (insignificant) but seat of the pants power was significant increase, of course use at your own risk. blah blah blah, sorry about the long post.
That kinda sounded like a disclaimer at the end. Hmmm. Anyway I don't think you are on crack. It sounds realistic. I thought that was a bit much though, one ounce per gallon. I have heard the bio-diesel made from soy has an excellent lubricity factor and can be mixed 1-2 gallons to 50 gallons of diesel and will give better lubricity than HSD.
I drove my truck home last night and pulled into the driveway to an idle. As I sat for a bit the truck was running very rough at idle. I subsequently popped in a new CPS, with no change. I woke up this morning and drove it to a job, no problems with the idle. Not too sure what is going on with it. I am about to change my turbo, pedestal and all, with new boots. It runs killer on the road at speed, so I dont think I have an injector problem. I might try changing the fuel filter next. Any ideas?
Perhaps an IPR rebuild in order?
If you need it, change the oil, then , when missing at idle, next time unplug the ICP connector..See if it improves...Does it only happen warm?.....
SUBER have you pulled the dipstick when your truck is running? if the oil is bad you will see little bubbles in the oil, easy way to find out if it is your oil.
It does happen primarily when it is WARM to hot. I changed my oil less that 600 miles ago. I will try the ICP connection and see if that has any effect. It seems to be running better today. Its just strange.
