Hey, were 3 speeds from this year always on the column? It has a hole in the floor for a shifter as well as the stick on the tree.
Mine has a hole in the floor as well, but someone did it as they put an aftermarket shifter in. Was back on the column when I got it.
What size "hump" is your transmission tunnel? Two different ones where offered as per trans type.
Is it still a 292 under the hood? I've done alot of work to mine, that you cannot see, suspension rebuild, motor, anti-rattle kits in the doors, cooling system, yada-yada-yada. She is still a heap, but I can drive her anywhere!
Still has the 292. Now that I look closer, the hole definitely looks like a DIY job. I don't have anything to compare it to, but the hump looks pretty short. Maybe 2 inches? Some pics in the gallery soon.
