I had such good luck with my first post at this site I thought I would try another question. Can someone help me decode my VIN?
Warrenty #: F10DD673436
Body: E81
Trans: A
Axle: 26
D.S.O.: 72
Color: M
Thanks again
F10 = F 100 Series
D = Engine Code 330 HD 2V V8 (My dealer's manual and Chilton's differ here. Chilton's says a 352, but I'll go with the Ford manual.)
D = Assembly Plant Code = Dallas
673436 = April, 65
Body: E = Interior Trim code and color,= Red Woven Plastic and Red Vinyl with Foam cushion
81 = Conventional F cab
Trans: A = Ford 3 speed
Axle: 26 = Dana 60, 5200 lbs, 4.83 Ratio
D.S.O.: 72 = San Jose
Color: M = Wimbledon White
John, Since there were no FT 330HD's ever installed in pickups and the 352 was the only V8 offered in 65, I'd go with the 352. IMHO

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-May-02 AT 12:53 PM (EST)]Thanks for the feedback, John! : Unfortunately, it is difficult to ID an engine in the same family w/o being there. Ever tried to determine if a guy's FE was a 360, 390 or 427 by e-mail? Not easy! especially since I don't have casting numbers books. Wish I did, but I cannot afford them right now.
And, I just realized I made a goof: D IS a 352. I read the wrong line.
Sorry about that, but I'm always willing to learn!
