Mileage computer display problems
This is a 2000 PSD - the display changes brightness, it goes from normal brightness to quite dim, then proceeds to fade to so dim that it's unreadable.
Started about a week ago, now it's "off" most of the time. Tapping the display head will bring it back, sometimes for 10 minutes, sometimes only 10 seconds.
Any idea on what would cause this, and is it user serviceable ? Alternatively how much do these beasties cost ?
FWIW, the figures are now quite accurate. When I was running the Blue CPS the display was always several mpg better than reality, but after switching back to the Ford CPS the calculated consumption is always within a couple of 10ths of the display. Fuel consumption when running the Blue CPS was about 3-5mpg worse than with the Ford CPS, however the engine was MUCH quieter running the Blue CPS.
