When I come from a dead stop and accelerate hard I get a vibration that feels like a u-joint but it only does it then. Not under normal acceleration? Any ideas??? I do have it programmed with the diablo on the economy performance setting.
i have the same problem almost feels like a litle wheel hop but i know its not. i can tell when the wheels are hopping. sounds like a tranny mount maybe too? does that sound like the same problem as yours?
had the same thing also thought it was a U joint took it in to fine out it was the pinon bearing and something els they rebuilt the ho rear end at 35000 miles
my truck is not lifted and is all stock. i just replaced the carrier bearing which helped another clunking around the same area. my truck also has 146000 on her but that is the only thing wrong with it. its not real bad but jw what it might be if its not normal.
have someone pull the codes.
My truck coded 1 bad injector when it acted like that.
I replaced them all, ran perfect afterward.
My vibration was very strong like driving down a RR track or a drive shaft ready to fall out. Is that what you have?

I have a predator and my 350 4x4 2006 cc does the same thing with the same tune. I have been ignoring it. I suggest we both go to diablo under ford diesel and report the tune. It may be the injector pressure. I am using the original tunes (never updated by diablo). I got the predator as part of the "truck package" when I bought the truck. (private sale, the previous owner gave me the predator and his snow plow). I bought the truck (35k). I took it to a dealership and under warranty for a look over. Ford replaced the headbolts, headgaskets, and egr cooler. Is this related to the predator? The manager said that there was a headbolt torque issue at the factory and this was the cause. I DID NOT discuss the predator with the service manager. thanks rc

no not really and there are no codes and the truck runs fine besides when its cold it runs rough.
This problem could also be associated with the carrier bearing. There is a service bullitin regarding this and a thread not too long ago. Basically, it can be solved by shimming the carrier bearing. It is caused by the driveline changing angles with acceleration and/or load. Do a little searching and you will probably find your answer.
