I have a 94 Ranger Splash i want to modify and beef up. It has the weak 4 cyl engine so Please give any and all info as to how I go about getting some real hp out of this little puppy.
have you thought of an engine swap, or is that what you're getting at? I can't think of any way at all to get a 4 cyl to pull it's own weight in anything bigger than a geo.
How about a 5.0 out of an 80's Mustang GT?

Nothing, and I mean nothing, stirs the soul, saying I'm a bad **** like lettin'em rip with a window shaking, fuel gulpin, carbon monoxide belchin, attention gettin, V-oh my LORD!-8!
If you dont want to get a new engine then you can start by getting a 1)K&N air filter system and also a 2)jet computer chip then you can 3)modify the exhaust and you could get an 4)ignition system such as Jacobs omni pack or an MSD 6A. But you have to remember it is only a 4 cyl. so you cant expect much. This is probably all the "bolt on" things you can do.
