Actually what I'm lookin for is the color code or name for the orange Ranger Splash trucks.
Which years were Splash's produced?
The splash is the only ford vehicle I can remember that was orange, (during the 90's). Was it a Splash exclusive or was I just not paying attention?
Anybody got any pics of orange Splash's?

 

I do know that you can go to paint manufactures websites and look up paint names by make, model, and model year and there will be a sample of the color there. I do know this orange found it's way to other Rangers in 94. I saw one and only one on the new car lots that I was shopping that year, and it sat there for a long time. When I asked the salesman about it (no, I didn't want it since it was a stripper/baseline) he said that it was a special order, that they won't stock that color, and that a customer backed out of a deal.

 

Ford only made the splash option for a sales experiment, and obviously it didn't do well.

 

Had a buddy that had an '87 rangr that was orange. It's just not a common color. I like blue, but was tired of the bright island clearcoat on my '01, then I found my current truck; Sonic Blue they call it. Now I see Sonic Blue in my sleep.

Not to mention my truck is/was already orange.

I never thought of that. I'll have to check that out too. Any idea who supplies, (supplied), paint for ford during the "Splash years"?

 

1996 Mustangs had a color called Bright Tangerine, color code CM.

 

Maybe PPG but more than likely Ford, like any wise manufacturer, would have more than one vendor.
