You've done very well to make your factory brakes last that long.
With that said, I would be hesitant to change anything. I would get some factory pads.
If your rotors need changing, I would recommend the cryo'ed rotors. Something about that liquid nitrogen bath that does them good. (Ok, it's probably just a freezer, but still just as cold. )
Another thing that I could mention about brakes. I have NEVER had good luck with turning rotors. They always end up with too much runout and then you get some bad pedal pulsation/vibration when the brakes are applied. Just get new rotors if you need to.

Man, this post is getting long. I will just say this for now as I have to go to bed real soon. A guy I spoke with today recently had his truck on a dyno at a tranny shop after getting a new tranny with shiney pan. Well they were all stumped with the lower than expected #s so they pulled the 6637 off and ran it with the tymar intake tube just to see what would happen. Well, 25 hp more happened. And before anyone asks, the filter was cleaner than mine so relatively fresh.

I will be curious about my numbers when I get my gauge. I will probably do a run without filter as well as the stock unit comparisons. There may be more to this turbulence than I imagined.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind, Missoula's a nice town. We spent two weeks there a few years ago, and liked being to walk downtown along the river, and I especially liked the brewery and winery. My wife has now informed me that when we get to Bozeman, she wants to check on the availability of RV parks just south of there at the west entrance to Yellowstone, so we might be headed that way?

With my conservative driving, use of the exhaust brake even when empty, and lots of interstates with minimal stops, I've averaged about 1 mm per year, at least that's what I came up with when I measured a set of new pads at a Ford dealer and got 12 mm on those.

I agree about turning! I've talked with Guzzle, and I've got the complication that none of the new parts, slide pins, etc... fit my old early 99. If I go the upgrade route, I think I've got to get new everything, calipers, rotor, hubs,..? That's why I want to find a shop that is familiar with the issues of updating an early 99 brakes.

My wife and I spent a week in the town of W. Yellowstone, which is on the border of the park. The gate to the park is on the E. end of town. I forget the name of the place but it was plenty big for our rig with room to spare for the slide outs and a place to park the truck without blocking any other traffic. The entire park was on level ground so setup was a breeze. There are a lot of parks to choose from in W. Yellowstone and it's in a beautiful mountain setting at high elevation with very low humidity so you'll love it at night this time of year. Nice, cool dry weather at night and plenty warm during the day.
This is where we stayed. It was very nice, quiet at night. If I return to W. Yellowstone again in the near future I will stay there again.

There is also this place. It looks like a nice clean place. I think it's brand new as I remember a big vacant lot in that area of town when I was there three years ago, but I may be mistaken.

If my math is correct, you have NEVER bought brakes? Damn, if that is true, good job.

If you have made it this far on the early brakes, why bother with the extra expense of upgrading? You've done quite well with things as they are.

Not very many would want to brag about having only 1 mm of most anything else that I can think of!

Thanks for the travel info, I'll comment on my travel thread when I update it.

Regarding your comment "you have made it this far on the early brakes", it reminds me of what I've already posted here ...

That's why I measure my blood pressure as well as my CC pressure (and now also turbo inlet pressure) on a regular basis, so I can find potential problems early on and hopefully correct them before major damage results ...
...and that's why I'm also interested in getting the best brakes money can buy!
