If interested........

I picked up one of these the other day off of ebay, and they have been out of print for a while. They are pretty useful and informative. I fully respect the people here that like the DVD manuals, as I too have them, but this little booklet is going cheap by this guy. If you are like me, I like having it in my hand to read for some reason. I do not have any relation to this seller and have not vested interest with him. Just thought I would pass this on.

looks like a good book. I might just have to look into it. There is also a guy named Bruce Amacker that sells these

He is PSD guru. I haven't seen the book though I would really like to get my hands on one. He is the local guru on IATN with a all makes forum for mechanics that my dad and I check out every now and then.

Funny that you mention Amacker. I just got the book at the doorstep today. I havent had much time to look through it just yet though. It does look pretty good just glancing through the pages. Expensive price tag, but I am fiding out that there arent that many books on the 97.

It says that the 7.3 (94.5-97) has 12 qt. cooling system and 12 qt. lube system. I thought most everyone on here said it has about 15-16 qt. cooling and oil system?

The oil cap off the top of my head is just a tad over 12 qts. I use three one gallon jugs and just a bit more.

Yep, I always forget that I precharge my filter with a quart before I place it up.

From Dieselman's page: The refill for the crankcase is 14 quarts for 94-97's and 15 quarts for 98.5/99's with filter change. Some early 95 and older engines were equipped with a 12 quart dipstick (Navistar P/N 1820068C1) and need to be filled to just over the word "FULL", or replaced with the correct part (Navistar P/N 1824405C1; Ford P/N F4TZ-6750-E for F-series; F5UZ-6750-A for Econoline). Some later dipstick tubes were not seated properly causing the crankcase to be over-filled in an attempt to bring the level up to the mark.
