Ok so i want to order a new turbo tomorrow, and i need help deciding which one to get I like the H2E set up and think thats what i like but what about the garrett BB turbo the 38 or 42r im going to run stock injectors and oil untill I can afford new injectors and when i do ill porbably get mini me's so which turbo is gunna do the best for me, im out to flat out kill my buddies chipped dodges and a few big mouth duramax kids but i still want to be able to have a good relaible truck, im pretty sure I have the forged rods cuz I have an early 99 so the motor should be good to 500rwhp right??? well thanks for the help guys as I cant make this decision on my own
I have a D66 from Beans diesel. It is a direct bolt on and it cleans up the exhaust quick. You can check out my videos and see there is no smoke when I am sled pulling. I like it a lot.
I ordered BD code injectors today. I may end up with a larger turbo if I have overfueling issues. We will see.
hmm yea i did see that one too, im not really worried about smoke it can smoke as much as it wants for all i care lol, i just want power and fast, i hear the H2E isnt that quick spooling?
its not. got one on another truck. D66 spools faster. D66 and H2E are about the same flow characteristics. Modified H2E flows more air. 2 hour install for the D66 and a lot less money. H2E you have to change the pedestal and up-pipes, up-pipes are a PITA to change.
If it were me, I'd do the injectors and chip first. Unless the turbo you have is bad and you need to replace it. Then I would go with the D66. I can see the H2E being a bit of a dog, and I think it might still be a bit on the large size with only 150cc injectors.
yes Im an early 99, thanks strokin. And this D66 is it going to max out at 400 or is there room to get more? man this is a tough decision, I really like the trubonetics BB but dont know when exactly i can get it, I can wait i just dont want to lol I have the cash to buy one now and if I wait Im afraid I will spend it on something else

i asked BWD about the D66 turbo..i was in need of one.. they said with a set of split shots, the 17* hpop and a little tuning you could see 412 hp..H2E i dont think works on an early 99..i chose to up grade my turbo for a better set up later on..
yea I know I would have to upgrade with the H2E but I can get the whole conversion kit and turbo at a pretty good price, or buy the conversion kit and say a TN turbo or Garrett BB i just dont know which to choose......... I think i want more than 400hp, my truck can take 500 before i need to start building the lowerend, maybe a solid 450hp would be good but whats gunna get me there
Well just got off the phone with Jody and he really likes the H2E and beings as how he is who Im going to stick with as far as tuning goes I think its gunna be the best bet in the long run.
look in my sig, thats what im running, H2E MiniMee stage 3 , and DP toons,,,,now i need trans, so Brian is getting a visit,,,,LOL,, so get readdy to spend some money, if you want 450-500HP
