Any code deciphers out there?

I have a 429ci that I pulled out of a 1968 or 1969? LTD last summer and before I rebuild it I wanted to know what I'll have to work with. So if somebody can decipher this codes for me I would be very grateful.
Intake Manifold #:
C9AE-9425-A

Head #:
C8VE-E

Also will there be any more #'s that I will need in order to find out the specifics on this engine?

thank you

Josh

Manifold is a '69 and heads are '68's. The block number would be the best number to get.

Thank you, do you know off hand where the block numbers are located? Also how can you tell the type of heads you have (P.I.,(CJ's ect.)?

75.8 cc comb. chamber, 2.08/1.66 I/E valves. Just your basic pre-smog 429/460 heads. Equivalent to D0VE heads.

The block number should be on the passenger side towards the back of the block above the starter. Might have to remove starter to read it.

Any code deciphers out there?

Hi, Check out the Official NHRA Tech/Specs page for Ford 1969 at http://www.nhra.com/tech_specs/engine/index.html --Both the head and intake are listed by FoMoCo as being used in 1969 on the 428/429, 320hp, sngl 2bbl Ford carb #C9AF-J/auto only-intake #'s near top of page, you'll find head nos. next to last at the bottom. This is a Good Site, Pass It On----justmerod----- p.s. if you rt. click on Ford 1969 then left click Open in New Window and Open File from current location; then you can minimize that window and browse other years. Good Luck!!

OK YOu caught me!! The Idea of my posting was to get get Josh to visit the site and read the #'s for himself. I mis-spoke though; Bill, in my haste in writing reply should have said the intake originated on the '69 429 and the heads orig. on the '69 428. --- I'd Stand Corrected, but I'm too tired, stressed out with Engine Woes of my Own and sorting through all the mis-information in Chat Rooms. Justme..duh!

I went to the site myself and read the same thing you did. If that's the caliber of information they give out then it's basically useless. 428 heads won't fit on a 429...never have, never will, they're 2 different engine families.
