Sorry I have been a way it claims to lower ebts under power and towing but havent hooked up my egt yet and all tuners can recalibrate but not many of them can for the 6.4 yet hypertech lets you calibrate up to 35 inch tires superchips does not and when I called them they said it will be a while I had a superchips and sent it back didnt car for customer service they were a little rude when I called for a question and the egts they said where way to hot to towe anything over 4000 lbs in a tuned mode
I have not seen any tuners that lower the egts in a stock config truck.
Different turbos, bigger intercooler, methonal injection or mabey a modified exhaust could be the ticket to lower EGT's. More power, more fuel, more heat= Hotter EGT's.
I would look at the SCT or the Superchips tuner, i have heard good things about the overal tune of the engine and trans combined. After all if you cant get the power to the ground what good is it.
I have heard alot of people complain about the trans sliping with the Bully Dog tuner. Just my .02
SCT Tuner from Spartan Diesel. Only way to go if your lookin for improved fuel mileage, any performance gains, and an all around fool proof, safe tuner.
Could someone in the know give a little tutorial here on warranty issues vs. a modified PCM. It's my understanding that any change in the PCM renders the ENTIRE warranty null and void. (I could understand any FAILURE caused by an aftermarket product not being covered.) I've read my warranty book from front to back, and although I'm not a lawyer, I can't see where a tune or chip would invalidate a warranty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From what i understand the PCM detech's the non factory programing, and than throws a code that says NON FACTORY PROGRAMING CHANGE or somthing like that. This is what i have been told but i'm not sure how factual it is.
I spoke with a "warranty administrator" at the dealership today, and ask her what my liabilities were in case I went with some "aftermarket programming" of the PCM. She said essentially any failure of the drivetrain or exhaust system, not covered bya recall or TSB would be considered resulting from the aftermaket programming, and therefore not covered. Anything else would still be covered. ( I think that only leaves the washer fluid pump.)
