What's the general opinion of additives to the fuel on an '08 6.4 ? Got me one and was curious about everyone's thoughts

 

got ford additive, not bad, increased milage a bit. get 4 fills to a bottle. was about 6.25 a bottle i think.

 

I've been using DieselKleen Grey bottle ULSD formula. Gets me a little beter fuel mileage and one gallon cost $15, good for 300+ gallons.

 

Thanks for the replys. Read a little bit on this subject before I bought this truck and you guys just confirmed what I read. I think the main thing was lubricity and the Diesel Kleene supplys this.

I have used all the additives mentioned here and by far RBP is the best. Check out this site. Actual noticable milage and power increases.

My truck recently started blowing black smoke. Not bad, but more than it did when it was new. Ford tech checked and said the detane rating on my fuel was a little low. (Sorry I don't have the numbers, I'm working on getting them) Bought the diesel-klean in the grey bottle, and added it to the fuel. Black smoke seems to be a little thinner, and their seems to be a little more power. Jury is still out on an increase in MPG. I'll let you know.
