I've got more responces saying that the 460 NEVER had flat top pistons, the 429 did.The C8VE,C9VE are head-block #'s the C8SE could be the 429 flat top.Can some one please verify with a whole part number. One person said if the 460 had flat tops it would have waaaay to much compression.HELP
T-bolt, have you called Ron Miller at Ford Power Parts? His guys used to sell a flat top (no bathtub dish!) pistons for the 460. I believe he used TRW very dished 429 slugs and cut the tops flat. His shop makes all sorts of custom pistons for Fords, using TRW forgings as a starting point. FPP made my 060 over 410 pistons from L2291Fs, which are supposed to be for a 390. Doesn't Kieth Black offer some 460 flat tops too, in hypereutechtic? DF
