07 Super Duty iPod Interface

So I've done the searches both here and on the web. I'm wondering what unit you have or know of that works for this model truck. The head unit is a six disc changer with an aux button.

I want charging capabilities, and in an ideal world to be able to control the unit with my hand controls on the steering wheel and to display on the radio. I'm wondering if anyone makes a unit like that.

Any help is appreciated.

PS I have a email out to P.I.E. and Brandmotion. If you have the model numbers for either of those companies I'd appreciate it.

Mike

Brandmotion is going to be your best bet. For my 07 SD I'm contemplating replacing the HU with something that has satellite and bluetooth.

BG,
Crutchfield.com has online chat as well as a 800 # you could call and get a answer now. They are a great company, I bought my new HU and speakers from them last week. They not only ship the stuff you buy quick, they also include wire harness adaptors for your vehical. If you find something you like and are going to buy it, mention "a friend sent ya" (you'll get $20 off a $200.00 purchase + I get a $20 credit.) Thats not the reason Im recomending them, they are great to deal with, and have telephone tech support available till midnight!

So ain't that a kick in the pants. I put the wrong year in my question. I've got an 06.

Does that change things a little?

Nope doesn't make a difference. Brandmotion is going to be your best bet.

Spoke with BrandMotion again this morning. Their rep. said that their unit wouldn't work with my head unit. Apparently unless your radio is satellite radio ready, their unit won't work. Granted this does contradict what I've heard and read, I am going to take his word on this one.

Any other ides for 2006 F 250 Super Duty with head unit with 6 disc cd changer and aux. button.

Thanks

The IPDCFD001 won't work? It says it works with the 06-07 Super Duty without satellite radio?

Maybe this guy will work?

What I'm hearing is that the stock headunit is not satellite ready in the 06 F-250 with the aux button. I'm not sure if thats actually the case, but if it is it kind of sucks. There are several things I'm dissappointed about in my truck. This is one of them.

A list of a couple others, how is there not navigation on a $50,000 truck? How is there not a factory installed option for Mp3 option? why are there no air outlets in the rear seat of the crew cab?

Sorry for the rant.

Truthfully, I've never owned a vehicle for more than a year without swapping out the factory head unit for aftermarket so I've never really worried about them all that much.

As navigation, they did start offering that now in the 08s. I would never buy a factory installed nav unit though, as they are rediculously ovepriced, and don't have near the features of aftermarket ones.

Air outlets in the back seats would be nice, but really it's not that necessary. The cab isn't that big. Drive with the windows down the first couple minutes to get all the real hot air out and then put them up. I do wish that there was a way to keep the AC in recirculate mode though. It's really annoying to have to turn it back on every time I start the truck.

I would like full integration, though, you know, not having to add on a bunch of aftermarket products. Not that theres anything wrong with that. I've done that for years, just after looking at some of the luxury vehicles and the level of integration, I'm wondering why these trucks weren't there a few years ago.

I'm not at all into the look of the 08.

Did anybody find a solution to the Ipod connection problem. I just bought an 06 and I don't want to change out stereo. The site is great I took 10 minutes to do the high Idle mod. I enjoy reading the tech info. Keep up th e good work.

you are looking for an "P.I.E. FRD04 POD-S" interface as long as you have the aux button on the stereo and no factory sat, nav or dvd.
