Okay, so there must truely be such a thing as karma. I think the truck Gods have given me a dose of humility. I have been having trouble getting the person at the dealership that I purchased my truck from that handles license plates to get off her **** and get my new plates. I have had the truck since May 26th and I call them 2 times a week and they keep giving me the run around. I called yesterday and my salesman says that it's beyond ridiculous that I still don't have tags(of course he feels that way, he told me 2-3 days originally and now looks like a big jerkoff). So he says he's going to chew on somebody, yada yada blah blah. He calls me back and says they can't get me tags because the inspection on the truck has now expired.....
So he says, "what are you doing tomorrow?" I said "getting the truck inspected I expect".
He says take it to their guys in the morning, they'll do it on the dealerships dime.(of freekin' course!!) So I take it their and the guy fails it because he says all the ball joints are shot....imagine that. Also at least one tie rod end isn't up to spec and the piece where the pittman arm attaches is bad too. I guess that explains why there is so much bump steer on the truck that I was thinking of adding another steering stabilizer. I don't need another steering stabilizer, I need a whole new front end on the truck.
So here's the kicker; they first try to give me a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am. As a loaner I refused that I said I need something a little bigger. I end up with a ...1996 chevy blazer 4x4 POS!!!
It must be because I was making fun of the venerable F150 in this thread yesterday. I had too much swagger from driving my Powerstroke. The Gods felt I needed a little humility.
Oh, they are definitely taking care of it. If they would have given me my tags one of the 12 times I asked them to, I would have been up sheots creek on the repairs, because I would have assumed it was just the straight axle up front and would have driven it until the front end got really bad. So for that I am thankful that they have been screwing up all this time. As they say, everything happens for a reason.
I talked to the guy that was inspecting it and he said that it seemed to him that they were trying to squeek one by. I also talked to the guy that is doing the work, and he said that they weren't that bad. Of course he works for the dealership, so what else is he going to say?

The SportTrac is still a chic truck though.
I'll take the SportTrac every day over a stinkin' blazer!!!!
Sounds like you had enough humiliation, though -- I won't say another word. I swear.
The swing shift supervisor where I work has a 4x4 Sport Track. He usually parks next to me when he gets to work (I am the Days supervisor so I am already there) and he always without fail will say something to the effect of "Hey, my fellow Ford brother!" when he sees me. I always get a little chuckle when I go to get in mine and leave and my truck is sitting there looking like a warhorse all tall and proud next to his chick truck.
