What is the axle code on your VIN tage? If it is a 4x2 truck the axle code should have a B4 or B5 for a 4:10 or 4:56 with Limited slip rear. The code will read B4F or something like that for a 4x4. You could always crawl underneath and look for the axle code tag located on the rear axle under one of the diferential cover bolts. It should read 4.10L or actually read limited-slip some where on the tag. I'm not positive about it reading 'Limited slip' but somewhere in the dark corners of my mind I seem to remember seeing that once. The 4.10L is something I've seen. A non-limited slip will simply say 4.10.
Good luck

I came home this weekend finally and looked at the tag on the Rear end and the numbers say C9TADS (the D could also be and O or 0) i would like to know if this is limited slip or what it exactally is. it also says it is a 3.54. thanks

I have always found it preferable to getting in my truck, put it in drive and mash the gas and count the number of tire marks on the road. Unfortunately right now I only leave one. But I can't help you with the numbers to tell what it is. The tag on your door should give you an axle code.

The "C9TA-DS" is a Dana (Spicer) 60 with, indeed, the 3.54 ratio *and* a locking differential. Your door tag should have the C7 code as Eric mentioned, assuming this is the original unit installed at the factory. You lucky dog, you! :P[/FONT]
