what is the purpose of having the high idle on the dp-tuner

i know some people use it to make there AC work better

I'm going to use mine to help my truck warm up faster. I live at 6000 ft and work at 8000 ft. At times, it will be -15 for our high temp for a couple weeks. I have a heated garage at home but no such luck on the job sites.

Warming up the engine faster, keeping the A/C cold when idling for long periods of time in hot weather, running extra electrical accessories (charging purposes) are probably the main three purposes. Also some folks might not like to leave it idling for long periods at a regular idle (even though the CAP will kick the idle up once it's necessary), so it's handy to be able to force a high idle whenever you like, with the flip of a switch.
