Check engine/High idle
My truck is a 1999 F150 4.6V8 auto trans with 85,0000 miles
I have had problems with the CE light coming on intermitantly over the last month. The dealer couldn't find any stored codes. At that time it had a pretty severe miss and they reccomended new plugs and wires. I replaced them and it took care of the miss. Shortly after that the CE light began to wink at me again and sometimes will stay on for awhile. In the last week or so the engine has began to idle extremly fast at times (1500 to 2200 rpms) Sometimes shutting the engine of will resolve this other times not. Today I stopped by Autozone and they read a PO133 code which is a slow response on the Bank 1 Sensor 1 O2 sensor. Could this cause the high idle or should I look elsewhere such as the Idle air control valve. These are the first problems I have had with this truck ( I bought it new) and other than the high idle the truck runs great!!! Thanks for your help.
