Hpop?
My buddy just put his truck in for service because we couldn't get the truck to start. It would crank, but nothing happened. I hooked my superchips tuner up to get some dtc's and it told me that #6injector was not responsive and there was insufficient fuel flow. Well the dealer took the truck and fixed it telling us that it was the high pressure oil pump. How is this possible if the injectors were saying there were bad? The truck is great now and no problems. By the way he runs superchips also, returned it to stock and the dealer had no problems granting warranty. My truck is the same year should I be concerned about the pump or is it a hit or miss process?

HPOP is the high pressure oil pump that supplies the high pressure oil to fire the injector. Without going into serious detail, it take high pressure oil to the injector to supply the extremely high pressure necessary to atomize the fuel going through the injector nozzle. Without it your injectors simply won't squirt fuel into the cylinder. It's a little complicated to explain and I can't tell you why it was showing a code for one injector in particular. It may have just been a trash code thrown--happens sometimes.
