I want to put a new exhaust system on my new (to me) F250 with the 5.4l in it. I have been looking for a flowmaster system but cannot find one. Do any of you know if they make a system (cat-back) for the truck or would I have to buy the mufflers and custom build the exhaust?
Thanks,
Kevin
Nice system, easy to install, 70 series muffler, so it's not obnoxiously loud, but a decent growl when you get on it. Can't say it helped much in performance, just tuned the exhaust note a bit.
I had a full custom 3" single system with 50 series delta flow muffler and i loved it, sounded great and got lots of compliments. This was on my old 02 5.4.
flowmaster has the force 2 cat back system for all the 5.4 superduties (3v and 2v) i forgot where i found them but i got a force 2 with 70 series muffler for my 2005 250 5.4 3v for 280.00 with shipping. ill try to find it again and post a link
why do so many people HAVE to buy a pre bent kit...just order a flowmaster muffler from summit...or wherever you want...and go to a muffler shop and have them bend you some pipes...i had mine done for just over 300 bucks...flowmaster 40 series, ALL STAINLESS. and the duals coming out of the corners with 3 1/2" Stainless slant cut tips...everything is welded tight and i go back every so often and he checks for anything losening up and make sure nothing moved...and there is a life time warranty on the system...cant beat that with a stick
im not trying to be a smartelic at all, so dont think that. every muffler shop around my town sales u this cheap thin walled piping that looks like **** when it gets a little dirty.plus it wont last. the walls on my flowmaster pipes are thicker and look like they will hold up better to wear and tear. im not just saying this either. i talked to several people about this and they all agreed. just my two cents worth.
I agree with CounterMaker. I had a custom bent system on my last truck. it cost me $475 but I had large custom tips on it. It was perfect. I know that not all shops will have the same quality, but find a good shop and you'll be all set.
I heard a truck with the new DynoMax dual rear exit system , sounded great , its a cat back system , this system was louder that it should have been because they had a pipe in to replace the cat , it also fits with the rear swaybar , if it was avalible at the time I bought my Gibson exhaust I would have bought it , it was on a 2005 5.4l truck but also fits the v10 , Craig.
I had true duals with Flowmaster 40s & 14 gauge 2.5 pipes installed for $280. It sounds good & hasn't given a problem since 99. I'd get the muffler you like & have a shop install it.
On my 1995 F-150, I decided I was going to do a catback system as soon as the original system needed replacing. (Yes, I am cheap). What I didn't know was it had a stainless steel system on it. I bought it used, had 14k miles when I drove it off of the lot, so I don't know if that system was factory or not.
Anyway, 220,000 miles later, I was still waiting for the stoopid exhaust system to rust off when I traded it in. The CAT rotted out, but the pipes and muffler behind it still looked great.
