Last year i was on here and found a topic with instructions and picture on how to locate and replace the blower resistor on my 99 f350 7.3L truck. Now that i am back from Iraq I want to get my A/C working properly. Where would i find something like that.
The blower motor resistor is just below and slightly to the right of the blower motor looking under the hood (on the passenger side). Let me be the first to thank you for your service to our country and WELCOME HOME, partner!

The resistor is what controls the electrical current to your control switch. if it goes bad it will only work on the highest setting. replacing this part will save time and money.
ok thanks. i thought maybe it was a way to get more output from the blower on high or somthing.
Welcome home and Thank you for everything! I retired just before everything started and was there for Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Anyway, the resister uses what looks like a heating coil, to drop the current to the motor to slow it down or allow the lower fan speeds, and on HI it allows all the current to pass to the motor which allows it to turn faster. I blew one once, replaced it and it immediatly blew again. I had to then replace the motor because it was putting a higher than normal load on the system so when you used it on low, the motor was trying to draw more through the resister and burned the second one out. I replaced the motor and resister and have been fine ever since...Hope yours doesn't end up costing you 2 resisters AND a motor. The motor was working fine on HI but was drawing a lot of power from being old I guess..Just my 2 cents worth. Dave
Thanks Dave, Yeah I just replaced the resistor and it works great. Now you have given me more to expect......THANKS BUDDY! Anyway thank you also for your service. I was in Germany during dessert shield and storm. I pray you got out with no problems to your health.
Thanks to everyone on this forum for providing a way to help those who want to DO IT THEMSELVES. YEEHAW..............
