I am getting tired of people getting on the forums just to complain. Seems like some people like to just gripe about things without looking for any kind of solution or seeking anyone's advice. Often they are simply looking to get an arguement going, and it rarely helps anyone.
I don't mean to sound like a (insert foul word here), but...

If you just want to complain, with no useful or entertaining input please go elsewhere.
It does help to keep the blood pumping. I know when he made that coment about "American Made" my heart hit a couple extra "rpms."
........As for the water on the roof. I always slam the gas before the brakes after its been parked in the rain so it goes down the back rather than the front......
Hey black04lariat, I tried your suggestion. The only problem was they filled back up after I went thru the back of my garage. Oh well, I always wanted a drive thru garage.
I want to apologize for getting everyones blood boiling. I didn't realize that that this site was full of engineers. The truck is GREAT and I do really love it. And definately the good engineering designs vastly out number the dumb ones.
.......it is a truck. i don't care how much you paid for it, it's a truck. Maybe we can all say it together it's a truck......
Maybe it's a truck to you guys, but to me it's my new baby. It doesn't become a truck to me until that first dent or scratch appears or preferably until it's paid for.

you have to watch my friend....we love out trucks and we'll defend them....we get lots of people on here just trying to start crap often...
good luck with your oganizer and the roof thing...
I too just purchased a new f-150.... comming from a (almost identical, but much lower powered '97 f-150). There are a few areas that ford seemed to have steped backwards in...... not sure what the designers where thinking..
1) The jack.... why does it have to be under the back seat!!... prime storage area. (it was under the front passenger in the '97).
2) Uncovered ash tray... we don't smoke and often put coin in the ash tray... if you use the cup holders the coins are exposed......... old design had the ash try slide out under the cup holders.
3) deeper bed (not really a huge problem for most but)... I can't reach the bottom of the bed anymore... and we can't put 2 lawnmowers one behind the other anymore (higher tail gate = it won't close anymore)...
4) Manual trans........ I had a V6 and a manual in my '97 sc.... and I would trade my auto 5.4 for it anyday if they made it again....... I just hate having to BRAKE everytime there is a tiny little slope.
5) Less chrome in the front...... chrome = less rock chips.... now we have a 1/2 painted bumper....
Having said that.... I still love my new truck........ thirsty new truck.
Eh, to each their own I guess...I love the deep bed, even if I can't reach all the way into it...great for hauling stuff...although your lawnmower thing is probably the only case I can think of where it would hinder things...
I imagine they put the jack where they did so people would know where to find it. I know, I know, sounds dumb but I can not believe how many people have NEVER read their owners manual! I guess if you put it where nobody could miss it, nobody could complain about finding it.....
And as for the manual tranny V6...they still make 'em, if you want one. Only availible in the reg cab 4x2, but they have 'em. Wouldn't trade anything for my 5.4...except maybe a 5.4 with a manual tranny!
Perhaps the roof indents as you call them are to provide additional strength, same as corrugations due to aluminum and such. As for the toy box in the center, I'm just using plastic zip lock bags for now. I'm coming from a 2000 F250CC with lots of storage, so its taking some adjustment to the limited storage space now. But I like my new vehicle alot; 2007 Black 4x4 F150KR CC with 6.5'bed, seems like I'm riding on a cloud.
Any change takes some getting use to, in time I hope your as happy as I am.
I think it would be hard for a car company to design a car for each person. They most be doing somthing right, it looks they will be #1 in sales again. But i stand by my point that it's a truck not a bmw. I hear it all the time, i paid 40,000. for it. Well it's still a truck 10,000 or 40,000 isn't going to change that.
The only gripe I have is there isn't a comfortable spot for my left foot. Most cars have an elevated/angled spot on the floor on which to rest your foot. The F150 floor is flat and my ankle doesn't bend that far forward.

That may be true, but I love the fact that I can stretch my left leg right out, and all the way out too! I can do it with both legs when I'm using cruise control.
Seldom can I do that in any other vehicle.

YES, i love it....you can kick your legs totally out and stretch....it's wonderful....
