Passenger Side Storage Compartment

What 73-79 Fords were offered with the passenger side storage compartment on the bed? I've seen them with the Camper Specials. Are there some camper specials that don't have the storage compartment? What can you tell me about them?

Not sure about camper specials without it but it was an option you could get on any truck you ordered. Thats at least what the few late 70's brochures I have lists.

My 77 F250 Ranger has one. It was a factory option, I believe. It comes in really handy, has a key lock and plastic liner inside. I use if for the mini air compressor, snow chains, extra hoses, etc.

does anyone know if you can buy replacement parts for these? i.e. bed side, door, lock, hardware, and the plastic liner?my 77 has the in cab gas tank and i need a new bed, so i was thinking of adding this option to give me some storage.

The CamperSpecials storage compartment was for the spare tire. Otherwise you had to order the "contractors toolbox" (thats what you are talking about) just like any other option. Im not sure what the first year they offered thi but they stopped it in 79.
