I'm in the process of rebuilding my 2v motorcraft, and it sure needed it! Packed full of spongy, clay-like goo and pretty carboned up too. Anyway, if I don't get it right would like to modernize the fuel system if affordable and not too difficult. I'd like your info on the Holley efi, and what else would have to come with it. I'm trying to get a 351M going in an '79 F-250.
The one thing you need to keep in mind is the system i have will not function without good vacuum. Holley syas you need at 15 inches at idle. I tried it originaly on an engine with only 10 inches vac and the system goes wild thinking you are under constant load and floods the engine with tons of gas. As long as the cam is not too wild you will be fine. Be ready to install the electric fuel pump in a good spot close to the fuel tank. You will also need to run nice fat lines too and from the pump. I would suggest going to the Holley web site. Once there you can down load the entire installation and tuning manual. I like the system because it is so tunable. The engine is so more responsive and crisp with the EFI. Also the newer system must be tuned with a laptop computer, no exceptions. The system i have came with a stand alone box with 6 ***** to make the adjustments, the laptop port was optional but the newer system (i think Commander 950) you must interface it to a PC.
