P0196 trouble code

I have a 96'F-250 PSD 5 spd with 201,000 mi. I was running a cylinder contribution test and it gave me this code for failure to complete test. It said oil temp sensor range/ performance. 1- where is it? 2- how can I fix it?

if memory serves me corectly a 196 is set when the oil temp is less then 170 degrees, your engine oil must be hotter then 170 inorder for the test to enable, my guess is you checked ok to start test then it ran for 3 or 4 seconds then cut out to the code? let the truck get hot first before you run the test.
the eot sensor is located in youur high pressur epump resevoir in the back towards the drivers side, the easiest way to test it is let the truck sit over night and pull the eot pid in the morning before you start it, it should be within 5 degrees of ambient air temp, a 196 doesnt mean its bad
