I agree with Monstra and metalman they shoulda kept the V-10 fender badge. I think the '08 badging on the SD is gawdy with the different colors and large bulbus chrome. I still get confused--red is gas, black diesel? or is it the other way around? Someone said it now serves as a vent too. Well, why not have a 'vent' and use the seperate V-10 fender badge? DAYM!!!!!!!!!11111
It's a vent. It only really funtions when you're going down the road and air is being forced through the engine compartment via the grill. I can understand the of it benefits for the PSD, but the gassers don't really need it. I guess it would cost too much to make 2 separate fenders.
So, on with the fender badges! I'll post pics (or links at least) when I'm done.
Oh, the red vents are diesel and the black are gas, BTW.
easiest way for me to tell is the 6.4's are red and the gassers are black.
i'd like to see them on a pre 08. personaly i like the 05 and erlier badges. black with the chrome accent...........wasn't a big fan of the paint chipping on the 05+ badges.

I'm talking about the V10 emblem on the front off the fender. Can't take the vent off or it will lwave a big hole.
I'm not a big fan of chrome. Once I get my super duty I'm planing on taking the fender vent/badges off and painting or powder coating them black or grey to match the rest of the truck (black FX4). Has anybody tried painting over the chrome badges?
