Leaking Injectors

My 89' 7.3L has three injectors that are leaking and I was wondering If there was anything I could do to the injector that would maybe seal it so I maybe don't have to buy new injectors? If I do go with new injectors, could I buy some 90lb injectors for better performance if I turn my pump up? They are leaking below the compression fitting out of the top where the nut us that you use to tighten them into the engine.

Are you sure they aren't leaking around the plastic fittings which are part of the return line system? That is a much more common and easy fix.

Does it start up and then die after a few seconds in the morning?

yes it is around the plastic fitting and I've replaced the o rings since I posted the first thread, but it still leaks a little and it still dies after a few seconds in the morning.

There is a complete return line kit avalable that replaces all the seals and hoses that are prone to causing the notorius cold start/stall condition.

What O rings did you use?

The injectors in these trucks are usually set to 1400(ish) psi, poping up the pressures has little gain in performance, unless you have a turbo.

Also, be carefull if you turn up the pump, EGTs have to be monitered to prevent the pistons from overheating (lots of black smoke = high EGTs).

Don't bother with ONLY oring changes on old warped plastic caps... UNLESS your in dire straights........ Always do the whole kit .... caps, orings and return lines... so get the kit from MWIF or your local diesel shop, parts store etc.
