Not to jump in on someone elses post, but I have a '78 F150 with a 460. My radiator is new but I don't know much about it. It measures 4 inches thick and about 26 1/2 inches wide. Any clues???
After doing some research today with my local rad shop it seems that the super cooler is a 3 row and just has a big top tank. So can anybody that has one open their cap and take a look ?
Who would you believe? The 1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog, or some radiator shop? As previously posted...Super Cooling radiator core = 2 5/8" thick. All others = 1 1/4" to 1 15/16" thick. Before I'd believe what some outsider sez, I'd verify the radiator I was a lookin' at is in fact an original Super Cooling radiator.
As original, all Ford radiators are marked with a Ford ID number. either on the top tank, or a side bracket.
BUT...Since many radiators have been recored, who knows what is really correct? Ford ID number or otherwise.

Where can I get one ? If it's a 4 core and has the big top tank I don't care what it cost, I just want / need one. I'm suposed to get a call back from lmc but I don't think their's has the big top tank, we'll see. any suggestions on where else to look ?
I've heard you can get them from Napa auto parts for around $175. Mine came from a camper special 2WD and I had it recored for $125 at a local rad shop. -Ed

I'll try Napa today. That was some deal on the recore or maby I was just getting ripped off ? My local shop wants 400$ to recore to 4 cores.
