My check engine light is coming on,so I took it to autozone and they checked it with the code reader. 2 codes showed up p1537 & p1538, both was the intake manifold runner control stuck open. Can anyone explain to me what this means?????

if you have 4.2 litre, then I'll take a stab at it. The 4.2 has an intake manifold with both long and short runners. At about 2800 rpm's, the computer will switch from the long runners to the short runners (or vice versa, I can't remember). Anyway, it sounds like that valve is stuck open. Not sure if the 4.6 and 5.4 do the same thing.
