Check engine code.
Sounds like a coil problem? I have not (knock on wood) experienced this problem with my engine , but I'm sure somebody that has will come along.
Good Luck!
That's cylinder # 9. Second from the back on the driver's side.
Pull the COP and make sure there's no rust, moisture, dirt, etc. Then, reapply dielectric grease to the tip, around where the boot seals to the COP itself, and where the boot seals to the head.
If the COP is misfiring, the PCM will sometimes pick it up as a circuit malfunction.
If you clean everything up and it's still doing it, replace the COP.
Our new Ford COP’s, the Sultans of Spark(S.O.S.), have
been designed with both durability and performance in mind.

Quality was the main feature we stressed when we went to the
drawing board on these coils.
