Window Security Etch
The dealer states that all vehicles sold have a window security etch done before they leave the floor.
Price = $295
If the vehicle is stolen, we are reimbursed $2500..
Should I fight it... Or just absorb it?

Don't pay it..
I had mine done by the local Police for $20.00.. They do it once a year..
Not something you need right away, but it is good to have..
I wouldn't pay $295 for it, but if it gets a thief to pass you buy then it is worth having

Around here, they etch the VIN into the window glass. If its stolen that mean the glass cannot be run thru a "chop shop" and resold.

Fight it. We told them we didnt ask for it and we weren't doing the deal if they charged us. they took it off. something like 200.00. we also wanted the ford premium gold warranty and the finance mgr said he never heard of it (ford dealer)??? we ended up buying the warranty online from a dealer in massachusetts with much better coverage and cheaper than the one the dealer was offering.I hate the whole car buying process.

Wow, that sham is almost as large as fuel prices...
Don't do it and if they give you static, make a point and use my "tool" to prove they are wasting your $
