Turn Signal Problem
Just bought my first bronco and im pretty happy with it so far. It's an '89 XLT with 5.0 Litre engine and I'm having a turn signal problem. There was a Viper 350HV alarm originally installed on the vehicle, but the previous owner removed it. They could'nt tell me if the problem existed before they removed it. The signals, as with everything else light related, work just fine when the lights are off. But with either the running lights on, or the headlights on the right turn signal does'nt blink. The left turn signal works just fine. When I try to use the right signal, the lift signal dims as if there is a wire crossed. I'm guessing this has to do with the way the alarm was removed. Any suggestions, beside taking it to my mechanic, would much appreciated.

That's an odd problem. The only suggestions I can offer are to check all of the grounds under the dash to make sure that they are all connected/tight. Also, check the area that the alarm was wired in and make sure that nothing important was cut or left loose after removal. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you. Good luck.

I had a similar problem on my 96. I agree with magee, i had to sit down with a wiring diagram and check to make sure all the wires were still there. The PO had pulled his alarm out partially. I fixed the problem, it was a wire that was cut , and hooked to another one. What an idiot. He really didnt know what he was doing.
