I finally got a Bilstein leveling kit w/shocks installed on my truck. It's specific for the PSD in Super Duties according to Shane at Bilstein so that's why I posted in this forum, and this is my favorite forum! Tires are Toyo Open Country M/T 35-12.50 on Raceline Renegade 892 17" wheels, 5.25" backset.
Stock wheels/tires with leveling kit:
With 35" Toyo mud terrains:
Front driver's side tire/wheel. They just rub slightly on the inner liner at full lock, left turn:
How does it affect the towing capacity and did it help the handling? Did it affect the rear swaybar mounting as I have Hellwigs installed and don't want to lose them but I would LOVE to level my stance. PM me with the cost of the kit if you don't mind.
a-rod, Thanks! The wheels are 17x9 Raceline Renegade 892 with a 5.25" backset.
npccpartsman, I'll let you know on the towing capacity/ability as I'm taking a trip next weekend. The tires are 10-ply E-range so they are up to the task. I ordered my truck with the HD suspension but not the camper package so it doesn't have a rear swaybar. I also have Firestone Ride-Rite air bags on the truck. PM on the way later this morning.
Thanks riggz! It's an F350 with an F250 2" spacer in the back, that's one reason why it sits almost level, plus the weight of the bumper and winch. It lifted the front about 2".
A stock ‘05+ Superduty 4wd has roughly 3 degrees of castor. Increasing ride height by 2.5" takes that down very near 0 (and negative when loaded).
DR kit comes w/ castor adjuster, bilstein kit does not.
any probs getting it aligned?
can you feel any probs w/ 0 castor?
I'm taking it to the alignment shop on Saturday morning. The three I stopped by could not fit a Super Duty on their rack! Finally found one with a Bear alignment rack that can do it. I'll see what they say and how it drives afterwards. I hope they can set it to 3 degrees positive per BowTieHatr's recommendation.
If I need to get the DR adjustment bushings and/or an adjustable track bar then I'll do that.
