I copied my text from the audio forum and moved it here, just thought you all might know a little more about the particular body style and such...
My truck is already decked out with **** carpet, figured the next step was installing an 8 Track player right above the CB... My plan is to remove the ash tray and install the player in the cavity where the tray was (its a 95 F-150)... Anybody ever heard, or done this before? It would actually surprise me if you had... Was thinking I could use the wiring that went to the ciggarette lighter and use it to power the 8 track player, sound right to you? Was also thinking I'd probably have to install a second set of speakers, or can I share speakers with the stock radio? The stock radio does have to stay put, just simply because I do need a digital tuner, and I still use the cassette player... What do you all think?
I'm pretty much speechless at this point. You are my hero, that's for sure! Bet those 8 tracks won't skip on ya! BTW, anything is possible, and it seems you have the drive to succeed! Sorry I wasn't any help at all, but good luck and POST PICTURES!
CD is more 90's .... I have indash 9 Track in my Mach 1 .... but that was the stuff in 73. Don't know if it works anymore though .... hard to find the tapes and all mine have been flooded.
I still hear the track change when listening to ZZ Top even on CD.

Quicklook ... you are old then. But I had a friend that had an underdash mounted PhonoGraph player in a 67 Malibu Convertible .... it wasn't all that good for listening to cruising tunes .... unless you were parked. I never mounted anything under dash .... except for CB's ... Gauges ... EQ's and of course ..... something Aaron needs to be late 70's early 80's authentic .... The AudioVox 1 Button 40 Watt Power Booster.
