<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">How fast will these trucks run? At 70mph, i'm running about 2400rpm. That seems like a lot of rpm for a diesel. I never run a tractor past 2000rpm. Will it hurt to drive my truck at 2400rpm for a long trip? BTW where are these trucks suppost to idle? Mine runs at about 550rpm.

the upshift point on one of our trucks is 3300 rpms... yuo shouldn't have a problem running 2400... but at 70 with 4.10's i only run about 2100 rpms.. maybe that's cause i've got an auto... they can run i think a tad over 100 stock

130 and she had more to go but my exit was coming up and i beat the old lincoln so we backed off and headed home
how do you trucks accelerate on the highway? above 75 or 80 mine is somewhat sluggish, its a steady pull but by far, not fast

So I take it that sustained 2500-3000 rpm won't hurt the engine.

I wouldn't sustain 3k for a long trip. But 2400 is no problem for these trucks. But your fuel mileage will suck. As far as how fast........

With my gear vendors double overdrive, let's just say fast enough where I worry about the integity of my tires....wipers floatin' off the windshield etc. I would assume if I had the power to push the wind, I could chase down luke's speed in a mile or so. Stage 1's and nitrous will only let me push the wind to about 130. At least that's my best guess. I haven't gps'ed it, but I've passed cars with speedos that go to 120. Anyway, I'm not limited by my gear, just power.
