Hey guys, need to get a good, crossover toolbox for the SD. Can someone reccomend a good high quality brand that has black available. Ive had a few toolboxes in the past and theyv been crap Also is there a decent place online to buy from? thanks.
Do you want alum or plastic I have had both and had good luck with both. I would suggest you get a one piece lid and be sure the locks face the bed not the road, they get alot less road grime in them and work longer.
i've got a black Husky aluminum tool box from home depot. they've always served me well. i also had a 20% off coupon for any Home Depot receipt that made it worth the price.
I had a Delta on one of my half tons and thought it was made really cheap. Now I have a Weather Guard that I had on my 04 F350, and now my 06 F350, and I love it. It is the bigger model, works great for trips with my and the wife. Can fit all our lugage in there. Locks face the road, but have never had any touble, but have to knock some ice off once in a while. Think I paid about $450 new, wasn't cheap. On that note most the dealer I use has a list of slightly dinged for a pretty good discount, my dad has one. Mine is black dimond plate. Levi
I got a black diamond plate Delta Champion tool box with the Gull-wingdoors, I only paid $265 at Quality Supply. I actually think its built well, alot better then any toolbox out there that is around the same price.
I have deltas. They have different grades. I use the champion, chest boxes. I've had no problems out of them. I have 4 of them in service now. the oldest one I've had for 6 years now.http://websearch.cs.com/wm/boomframe...storage.com%2F
I use weatherguard and it's been a great box just a little pricey. extra wide extra deep and about $550.00. they're available in black powdercoat as well
I have a Delta Pro (black, aluminum, diamond plate) in my Super Duty. Aside from one of the weather seals being a bit off from the factory (a 30 second fix), it has been a great box.
Rawson Koenig. A bit on the pricey side, ($650) but well worth it in my book. Available in many colors, black included, but if you want the diamond plate, you have to go with the aluminum. Steel is smooth finish only.
